The Gurmani Centre for Languages and Literature hosted event on International Mother Language Day. The Centre has worked closely with the Co-Curricular Activities Office to highlight the linguistic diversity of the LUMS community and is grateful for their support at every stage of the event’s planning and execution. The students and their local languages were the main focus of this event. It started with the open mic hour where students had the opportunity to share prose, the poetry of their choice in their mother-tongue. Followed by songs and regional dance performances in traditional costumes for which several societies have collaborated to ensure the performances was unforgettable. The last act of the language festival was “Dulla” (Dulla Bhatti), an exciting play by the Dramaline Society.
